In every sport from time to time there comes an individual or a team who seemingly rises out of nowhere and pushes past the current boundaries setting a new standard so out of reach for everyone else that most people think nobody will ever come close to it again. Such success is often analyzed but cannot be re-created by sheer will. It is as if all the stars aligned and all the little pieces of the cosmic puzzle fell into place just right at that exact moment of time allowing such excellence to come shining through. In the world of football (or soccer for the Americans out there) we are experiencing such a phenomenon this very moment in the form of FC Barcelona. The current Spanish league AND Champions League title holders have reached such an apex in their performance that they have risen a step above an already elite European cream of the crop.
